I know, we’ll all gobsmackingly sick of the US presidential election. We definitely want the Harris/Walz ticket to win, but watching the cheating, disinformation, voter manipulation, and rubbish reaction of hardcore Republican Trumpian actors is so very tiring. Yet if we say nothing, or do nothing, then they win. Simple as that. And don’t think these antics have not come to Canada. They were much in play during the recent Bc election. One conservative candidate said on the hustings that Trump won in 2020; that Canada should leave the UN; that provincial health leaders should be prosecuted. And the trucks keep rolling toting their Canadian flags and honking their horn. Never say never, and not even hardly ever.
I cannot imagine how the democratic team are feeling right now. Exhausted, frustrated, angry. In our own way, as we are able, let’s help, and holler, and create a media of complaint, insight, and responsive commentary.
The hot item right now — Trump stumps at a closed McDonalds. As a franchise owners are free to make their own political statement. The corporation has refrained from comment, as they respond to an outbreak of E coli which has plunged their stock value. Can we blame that on Trump. Hell, why not. No one cares what anyone says these days it seems. (And I’m a preacher, and Sunday’s coming.)
Enjoy.
