The finish line, maybe?

So here it is; the final installment of our survey of 2024 US presidential election memes a day before election day, Nov 5, 2024. We offer here a small selection of final reflective thoughts prior to what is likely the most important election anywhere in the world at the present moment.

Polls remain nail bitingly close; the choice between two entirely different views of political power and of America itself are as wide as ever; extremism in all respects on the Trump side—what can one do with a microphone—is matched only by a tenacious democratic idealism coming from Harris and her team.

Higher walls are being constructed around the White House in preparation for who knows what. The 2024 White House race has already been the most litigated in history. From where we at takenote.ca sit on our cushioned chaises longues, America looks anything but “great.”  Then again, Canada could likewise use some improvement.

Many claim the electoral college will be settled one minute after midnight Pennsylvania time. Here in our little town of Summerland, watch parties are preparing for what promises to be the Superbowl of political contests.

Pray. If you don’t or can’t pray, learn fast. Human resources are spent. As a person of faith, I can honestly pray: “Come Lord Jesus, come renew the face of the earth.” And the people said, VOTE. Let your vote become a prayer.
