Kindness and Generosity — A Kamloops story

From Mike Miltmore, CEO/Founder Riversong Guitars, Kamloops BC. Guitar Builder, Sound Engineer, Guitar Player & Lead Drummer

Story shared on Facebook by our good friend, Nancy Bepple

Mike Writes:

“Today a friend came to the store as superman. It wasn’t a costume; it was what he and his wife did. A short story…

The Kamloops United Church had a fire; the fire was catastrophic and destroyed their sanctuary. The collateral damage concerned all of the groups that used the space throughout the week and on Sundays.

One in particular was the Kamloops Interior Summer School of Music (KISSM) which stored all their instruments to run their school in the basement of this church. They were all water damaged or smoke damaged.

My superhero came into the shop today and purchased new instruments for the kids at KISSM to have. His gift will have long lasting effects on the kids that go to KISSM and our community.

This superman told me that without his uncle putting a guitar in his hands he would not have been introduced to music and able to pursue his passion for the guitar. His gift will change people’s lives; and he didn’t need to have a cape on for me to admire what he did today.

Faith in humanity restored.”

[Ken writes] Riversong Guitars is itself a good news story, but that’s a story for another day. To watch a video produced by KISSM go here. And before I forget, yesterday was World Kindness Day. Let’s keep kindness going, day after day.
