Juno’s day at the dog park – a party proposal

Juno is a popular dog blogger who has been active in local community campaigning around dog rights, privileges, and pleasantries.

Summer is here at last, so it’s time to head to the beach and to the dog park. For various reasons it’s been a long time coming but it is now time for a special gathering, a canine Christmas in July, a delightful day for doodles and other breeds, a four-pawed festival, where every dog, every owner and every dog-lover is welcome to attend. Here are some of my programmatic ideas:

  1. A pooh toss—bagged obviously—tossing bags between two contestants, three tosses each, then a step backward for each contestant; repeat;
  2. Pin the tail on the poodle—actually pinning favourite stuffies on top of the still temporary fence; dogs carry, owners place stuffy on fence posing for photographs;
  3. A canine egg push, each dog pushing a hard boiled egg along the grass in a straight line for ten human paces;
  4. British bulldog; all breeds welcome;
  5. Gotta be food truckshot dogs of course, special flavours such as Labrador Lime, Poodle Purple, and so many more; we hope to have 101 flavours available;
  6. Pooh-tine anyone? AKA the “Vladimir Pooh-Tin
  7. Owners three-legged races, legs bound with leashes;
  8. Nose painting; dogs place nose on an ink pad and then with nose to the ground paint on a clean sheet tacked down; extra points for stylish paw prints; honouring Jackson Pollock;
  9. Dances with dogs, live recordings of dogs from around the world;
  10. And of course, a group photo.

Your additions and suggestions welcome. Woof. Juno.
