It has been some time since we last heard from popular dog-blogger Juno, a six year old Labradoodle living in Summerland in the interior of British Columbia with his humans, Ken and Kathie.
Still recovering from the Toronto Blue Jays amazing run to the 2025 World Series, Juno still has her eye on (base)ball. Tis the season of predictions and rumours of trades, of retirements that open up positions on the field, and on the bench. Watch for up-and-coming players in the minor leagues and keep everyone else fit, healthy, and happy. Largely shut out of MLB awards, again. Of those with extension options, Clement and Bieber will return. Others in free agency are subject to negotiation. According to click-bait prophets, Bo Bichette is going to at least three teams simultaneously. Take a breath people. Managers, agents, and lawyers are earning their pay right now.
The most exciting news of all according to Gavin Groe at Athlon Sports is that Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher, Yoshinobu Yamamoto has adopted a dog. The Dodgers’ ace took to social media to share a personal update:
“Meet Carlos. I met him at a dog shelter last August, and the video is from the first time I saw him. He’s gentle and loves a slow life. He loves naps, walks and eating good food. I’m really happy mi Carlitos is with me now,” Yamamoto wrote on Instagram.
This warms my heart. Pitchers need dogs. Dogs need ball throwers. Pitchers need ball catchers, deep right and deep left, with the occasional bunt thrown in for good measure. He uploaded some pictures on Instagram of himself and Carlos, along with candid shots of the dog.

Not sure how old Carlos is, but he could remain with Yamamoto for much of the pitcher’s career with the Dodgers. “With 10 years left on his deal if neither side opts out, Yamamoto is expected to lead the Dodgers’ rotation well into the next decade. His sights have already shifted to helping Los Angeles pursue a three-peat in 2026.”
Not crazy about that idea myself. Our Jays almost came home with the hardware. Game six or seven could have gone either way. Trust me on this. We are still contenders, possibly even stronger than last year. I’m around for the next six to eight years; let’s make this happen boys.
Let’s go Blue Jays. Welcome to the canine club Carlos. Woof.
